One of the best things about living in Keali'i by Gentry is how close you are to everything you need — from grocery runs to date-night dinners. Austin and I have eaten our way through Ewa Beach over the years (occupational hazard of showing homes all day), and we're excited to share our favorite spots near Keali'i.

Grocery Stores Near Keali'i

Foodland Farms Ewa Beach

Foodland is a Hawai'i institution, and the Ewa Beach location is convenient for Keali'i residents. They carry local favorites you won't find at mainland chains — poke, musubi, and fresh island produce. Kristy does a lot of our team's event catering orders here.

  • Distance from Keali'i: ~5 minutes
  • Highlights: Fresh poke counter, local brands, rewards program

Safeway Ewa Beach

For larger grocery hauls, Safeway is a solid option. It's in the same general area and offers competitive prices, especially with their club card deals.

  • Distance from Keali'i: ~5 minutes
  • Highlights: Wide selection, pharmacy, deli counter

Costco Kapolei

The Kapolei Costco is a lifesaver for Keali'i families. Bulk shopping for a household just makes sense here, and the gas prices are consistently the best in the area. We're not going to pretend we don't make the trip at least once a week ourselves.

  • Distance from Keali'i: ~10 minutes
  • Highlights: Bulk groceries, gas station, food court, pharmacy

Shopping Centers

Ka Makana Ali'i

This is the main shopping destination for the Ewa Beach and Kapolei area. It's an open-air mall with major retailers, restaurants, and entertainment. Austin took his family to see a movie here last weekend — it's become the go-to spot for west-side families.

  • Distance from Keali'i: ~10 minutes
  • Key stores: Macy's, Target, Ross, Old Navy, Longs Drugs
  • Dining: The Cheesecake Factory, Dave & Buster's, Genki Sushi, multiple fast-casual options

Laulani Village

A smaller shopping center right in Ewa Beach, Laulani Village has everyday essentials plus some great local eateries. It's walkable for some Keali'i residents, which is a nice bonus.

  • Distance from Keali'i: ~3 minutes
  • Key stores: Longs Drugs, banks, salons, dental offices

Local Restaurants & Dining

Casual & Local Favorites

  • Teddy's Bigger Burgers — A local chain with incredible burgers. Austin's go-to after a long day of showings

  • L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Plate lunch staple. The chicken katsu never disappoints
  • Taco Bell / McDonald's / Panda Express — Quick bites when you're on the go

Sit-Down Dining

  • The Cheesecake Factory — At Ka Makana Ali'i, great for family celebrations
  • Monki Bistro — A local favorite for contemporary island cuisine
  • Eating House 1849 — Chef Roy Yamaguchi's restaurant in Kapolei, worth the short drive for a special night out

Coffee & Breakfast

  • Starbucks — Multiple locations near Keali'i
  • Kope Coffee — Local coffee shop with island-roasted beans
  • McDonald's breakfast — Don't judge — the local deluxe breakfast with rice and spam is an island tradition Kristy swears by

Everyday Essentials

  • Target — At Ka Makana Ali'i for household essentials
  • Longs Drugs (CVS) — Pharmacy and convenience items

Why Keali'i's Location Works

The convenience factor is a major selling point for Keali'i. You're not in a remote area — everything from daily essentials to weekend entertainment is within a 10-minute drive. For a community with Keali'i's price point, that level of access is hard to beat.
